German symphonic metal band XANDRIA have released the official music video for “Eclipse,” the title track and final single from their new album, Eclipse, arriving this Friday, August 7, via Napalm Records.
The track puts vocalist Ambre Vourvahis’ versatility front and center, moving between emotional clean passages, powerful rock vocals, growls, and soaring operatic singing. Heavy guitar work and cinematic orchestration reinforce the song’s dramatic atmosphere.
Band mastermind Marco Heubaum describes “Eclipse” as a song about resisting darkness rather than accepting it as the new normal. Using an eclipse as its central metaphor, the track portrays civilization’s light being temporarily obscured while emphasizing defiance and the belief that darkness will eventually pass.
Eclipse follows 2023’s The Wonders Still Awaiting, which reached #9 on the Official German Album Charts. The new record expands XANDRIA’s sound across eleven tracks, combining symphonic metal with ’80s-inspired riffs, modern low-tuned guitars, Celtic folk elements, electronic textures, cinematic arrangements, and more intimate rock passages.
The album also features several guests, including Subway to Sally violinist Ally Storch on “Lore” and McAlbi performing Celtic tin and low whistles across four tracks. “The Last Generation” incorporates a children’s choir and piano from Richard Z. Wang, while XANDRIA once again worked with the Sofia Session Orchestra & Choir. Hollywood-based composers Lukas Geppert and Ishaan Tyagi handled the album’s orchestration.
