Chilean progressive death metal band DECESSUS have officially signed with BLKIIBLK, joining the label’s growing roster of established and emerging heavy artists.
Combining progressive metal, death metal and djent with technical musicianship, melodic passages and aggressive songwriting, the quartet now enters the next stage of its international career as it prepares to release its debut full-length album.
The signing follows the release of singles “The Hollow Descent” and “Dark Flames,” which helped introduce the band’s blend of progressive songwriting, emotional atmosphere and modern extreme metal.
Vocalist Ignacia Fernández comments:
“We’re incredibly honored to announce that DECESSUS has officially joined the BLKIIBLK family. Our new chapter has begun, and we’re incredibly eager to see what the future will bring.”
Fernández calls the signing a milestone the band has worked toward for years, adding that the partnership will provide an opportunity for DECESSUS to expand its music to new audiences.
“To everyone who has supported us throughout this journey, our fans, friends, families, and everyone who has believed in DECESSUS from the very beginning, thank you. Your support has made moments like this possible.”
Mike Gitter, Head of A&R at Frontiers Label Group, praised the band’s forthcoming material and its combination of extreme metal styles.
“When we heard the new material the band had recorded for the upcoming album, it was instant as it masterfully weaves together elements of death metal, progressive metal and djent in a thoroughly modern way that will cement DECESSUS on the world stage.”
Formed in Chile, DECESSUS have already begun establishing themselves internationally. The band has appeared at major European festivals including Download Festival in the UK, Hellsinki Metal Festival and Nummirock in Finland.
Supported by Finnish management company Till Dawn They Count, the quartet will now focus on its forthcoming debut album, with additional details expected to be announced.
The partnership with BLKIIBLK marks the beginning of a new chapter for DECESSUS as the band looks to expand its presence within the international progressive and extreme metal scenes.
