Italian doom metallers MESSA have released the official video for Reveal, a standout track from their latest album The Spin, out now via Metal Blade Records.
The video, shot entirely on analog equipment inside a tire warehouse in the band’s hometown, embraces a lo-fi aesthetic designed to mirror the song’s spontaneous creation. Guitarist Alberto explained that the main riff literally came to him in a dream:
“I woke up at 4am to record it on my phone so I wouldn’t forget. It became the most immediate song we wrote for The Spin.”
Blending slide guitar blues with metallic blastbeats, Reveal highlights MESSA’s signature “scarlet doom”, a sound rooted in doom but fearless in weaving in elements of jazz, goth rock, and heavy metal.
Critics have praised The Spin as the band’s boldest work to date. Decibel hailed it as “a sweeping statement,” while Metal Hammer Germany called MESSA “the perfect band” for fans of adventurous heavy music.
Next month, MESSA will join Paradise Lost as direct support on The Ascension of Europe Tour 2025, beginning October 9 in Manchester and wrapping November 6 in Antwerp. Additional support will come from High Parasite and Lacrimas Profundere on select dates.
With The Spin and a major European run alongside one of gothic doom’s most influential acts, MESSA are poised to step fully onto the international stage.
