Visionary metal force TODAY IS THE DAY has released a mind-bending new video for their latest single, Pain And Frustration. The track is the third preview from the band’s upcoming fourteenth studio album, Never Give In, which arrives October 3rd, 2025 through founder Steve Austin’s own SuperNova Records.

Never Give In represents the first installment of a two-part concept album, envisioned as one massive body of work before being split into two releases. Across ten immersive tracks, TODAY IS THE DAY merges sounds from their many eras with new, never-before-heard elements, cinematic, psychedelic passages layered against their signature metallic core.

Themes of dystopia, struggle, and resistance dominate the record, reflecting both the band’s turbulent history and the world’s bleak present.

Pain And Frustration is accompanied by a video directed by longtime collaborator David Hall. Steve Austin comments:

“Dave has made a ton of really sick videos and films for TODAY IS THE DAY. He went all out at making this wild video. Dave’s a true original and his psychedelic horror touch fits perfectly with the song. It’s an honor to have him create this crazy, wild ride.”

The album was written and recorded by Steve Austin, who handled guitar, vocals, electronics, and Moog Sub37, alongside touring members Colin Frecknall (drums/percussion) and Tom Jack (bass).

Special guests appear throughout the record:

  • Aaron Polk – drums on Psychic Wound
  • Mac Gollehon – trumpet/trombone on Secret Police (noted for work with David Bowie, Onyx, Blondie, Héctor Lavoe)
  • David Brenner (Gridfailure) – synths, backing vocals, and visuals for “Secret Police”

Never Give In was entirely recorded, mixed, mastered, and visually designed by Steve Austin at Austin Enterprise Recording & Mastering in Orland, Maine.

TODAY IS THE DAY will join Primitive Man on their American Observance Tour MMXXV, alongside Otay:Onii, Guiltless, God is War, and Buffalo Nichols on select dates.

Never Give In follows TODAY IS THE DAY’s acclaimed 2020 release No Good To Anyone, which was cut short by the COVID-19 shutdowns mid-tour. Like many, Steve Austin endured isolation and depression during the pandemic years. Emerging from that period, he resurrected SuperNova Records, reclaimed the band’s extensive back catalog, and began a series of reissues while laying the groundwork for a new creative explosion.

The result is a retaliatory two-part opus that channels years of despair and frustration into a searing, visionary statement, with the first half now ready to be unleashed.

The second chapter is expected in early 2026. In addition, Austin is contributing to Gridfailure’s Sixth Mass-Extinction Skulduggery III (out the same day as Never Give In) and preparing to reveal the first material from his debut country album.
