Medieval black metal project Morke, the creation of Minneapolis-based multi-instrumentalist Eric Wing, will release its fourth full-length album, To Carry On, on October 10, 2025 through True Cult Records.
Following 2024’s Forged in Steel and Love EP — which marked a shift from atmospheric black metal toward a more melodic, medieval-inspired approach now dubbed Castle Metal,To Carry On delivers nine tracks steeped in the grandeur of ‘90s European melodic death metal and infused with modern atmospheric flourishes. The album channels the spirit of Dark Tranquillity, Dawn, A Canorous Quintet, and Obsequiae, while forging a distinctly majestic yet ferocious sound.
Guest musicians Tanner Anderson (Obsequiae) and drummer CJ Yacoub contribute to the record, adding further depth to Morke’s ambitious vision. With To Carry On, Morke cements its place within the emerging Castle Metal soundscape, crafting music both triumphant and sorrowful, a soundtrack for battles fought within the walls of ancient stone.
