The track, a fan and artist favorite, showcases relentless aggression, precision, and dark melody, building on the band’s legacy of 24 million Spotify plays across their top ten songs. Monuments is the second single from their ninth studio album, Darkness Invisible, set for release on September 26, 2025, via PERCEPTION – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music.
Recorded at Ansa Studio in Finland and mixed/mastered by Jens Bogren and Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden, Darkness Invisible blends razor-sharp riffing, sweeping orchestration, and Ville Viljanen’s unmistakable vocals with a more cinematic and emotionally dynamic sound.

Formed in Pori in 1999, Mors Principium Est have refined their melodic death metal approach over seven original studio albums. After surviving lineup changes, the current quintet—Ville Viljanen (vocals), Jori Haukio (guitars, programming), Jarkko Kokko (guitars), Teemu Heinola (bass), and Marko Tommila (drums)—reunited with original guitarists Haukio and Kokko for their 2022 release Liberate The Unborn Inhumanity.
