Nailed To Obscurity Announces Fifth Album Generation Of The Void, Out September 5

German melodic death-doom band Nailed To Obscurity will release their fifth studio album, Generation Of The Void, on September 5, 2025, via Nuclear Blast Records. The album is available on limited colored vinyl (clear/light rose/black marbled). The band calls it their “heaviest, darkest, most dynamic” work yet, a mature and atmospheric journey pushing their creative boundaries.

Reflecting the post-pandemic turmoil, European conflicts, and societal shifts, the album tackles both global and personal struggles—dark emotions, depression, and fear. It captures the weight of uncertainty, diving deep into the void of disillusionment. Alongside the announcement, Nailed To Obscurity dropped a music video for the lead single “Overcast,” offering a glimpse into the album’s intense soundscapes.

Formed in 2005 in Esens, Germany, by guitarists Jan-Ole Lamberti and Volker Dieken, the band has evolved through albums like Opaque (2013) and Black Frost (2019), blending haunting melodies with crushing heaviness, drawing comparisons to Katatonia and Opeth. Pre-order your limited copy now via Nuclear Blast.
