Miami based occult metal project NEFARIOUS GRIME has released her debut EP Death Is Immortal, marking a powerful new chapter for the solo project helmed by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Niuvis Martin.
Formed in 2013, NEFARIOUS GRIME channels a wide spectrum of dark and esoteric influences into a singular vision. Best known as the frontwoman for death metal band AMENORRHEA, ceremonial doom band SNAKE HEALER, and post-punk duo HIS PANIC, Martin uses NEFARIOUS GRIME as a vessel to explore the more arcane and atmospheric corners of her musical and visual world.
On Death Is Immortal, old school black metal riffing and ritualistic rhythms collide with haunting keyboard passages and expansive vocals that move between traditional black metal venom and towering operatic hymns. The result is a sound that is both shadowed in mysticism and strikingly accessible, bridging gothic, metal, and post-punk aesthetics into something uniquely her own.
NEFARIOUS GRIME is also deeply rooted in visual art, and the project reflects Martin’s unified creative vision, blending sound, imagery, and atmosphere into a singular dark identity. That artistic cohesion has already begun to resonate beyond the underground, drawing in audiences across gothic, metal, and post-punk scenes.
The project recently opened for Spanish black metal act BALMOG and is set to share stages with OCCULT LORDS, NIXIL, and SAIDAN, further solidifying NEFARIOUS GRIME’s growing presence within the extreme and occult metal circuit.
