Necromantic black doom outfit Worm have unveiled their new single and music video “Blackheart”, the second chapter in their ongoing Necropalace short film series. The track offers a deeper descent into the shadowed world of their upcoming album Necropalace, due out February 13, 2026 via Century Media.
“Blackheart” leads listeners through the crypts beneath the Necropalace, revealing the resting place of the vampire lord Nightfang and the frozen, blood red artifact that sustains his immortality. Visually and musically, the release continues Worm’s fascination with gothic horror and dark fantasy inspired by films of the 1980s and 1990s.
The short film was directed by Norman Cabrera, with production by Maya Kay and color work by Alex Nicolaou, under the guidance of Ted Nicolaou. Together, the team expands the cinematic universe first introduced with the title track “Necropalace”.
Vocalist Phantom Slaughter describes the song as a shift in tone for the band. “We consider this to be a gothic vampire love ballad. Sharing a different kind of emotion and color than the rest of the record. The lyrics touch on the isolation and loss one feels as a child of the night.” Musically, the band draws influence from Katatonia, Fields Of The Nephilim, classic AOR, and elements of Florida death metal, blending elegance with icy heaviness.
Worm’s new album Necropalace builds on the band’s reputation for merging symphonic black metal, doom, and classic heavy metal into a singular, atmospheric sound. Produced by Charlie Koryn and mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk, the album presents a fully realized world of nocturnal mysticism and melancholic grandeur.
Necropalace will be released on February 13, 2026 via Century Media. “Blackheart” is available now, accompanied by its official short film, offering another glimpse into Worm’s dark and opulent realm.
