Greek black metallers Penthos are now streaming their new album Erevos in full, exclusively through the Black Metal Promotion YouTube channel. The record is set for international release on October 15th via Darkness Shall Rise Productions.

Formed in Athens in 2017, Penthos took their name from the ancient Greek daimon of grief and despair, a fitting title for a band devoted to exploring darkness through traditional black metal. Following their 2022 self-titled debut, the group return with Erevos, an album steeped in desolation and mythic shadow.
Comprising nine tracks and running over 40 minutes, Erevos channels the bleak essence of second-wave black metal while weaving its own sinister identity. Though the band’s lyrical themes draw heavily from Greek mythology, the sound of Erevos leans toward the Scandinavian tradition, haunting atmosphere, and a balance between speed and ominous mid-tempo passages.
Songs like “Dancing Dead” and “Thanatos” capture this duality perfectly, shifting between cold ferocity and hypnotic, mournful cadence. The record bears echoes of Horna and Carpathian Forest, yet Penthos carve out their own space through richly dynamic songwriting and immersive production.
Erevos is a testament to black metal’s enduring spirit, raw, evocative, and unflinchingly bleak.
