The Mexico City–based melodic metal band Red Sands have announced the release of their new EP Evocations, arriving January 30, 2026. Their latest work presents six tracks exploring themes of mortality, memory, and transformation.
The record opens with Mors Vincit Omnia and includes the singles The Coven, The Hunt featuring Stu Block, My Beloved Ghost, System, and an alternative version of The Hunt. Produced by Daniel Novelo, Evocations features contributions from guest artists and engineers, showcasing a sound that blends elements of melodic, symphonic, and power metal.
The EP’s artwork, created by vocalist and visual artist Jonathan Corral, reflects its lyrical themes through surreal imagery symbolizing creation and impermanence.

Formed in 2012 by brothers Daniel and Eric Novelo alongside cousin Juan Carlos León, Red Sands returned from hiatus in 2022 with a renewed symphonic direction led by new vocalist Jonathan Corral and drummer Ángel Asiain. The band draws influence from acts such as Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Therion, Opeth, and Draconian, merging melody and atmosphere within their compositions.
Evocations follows a series of singles that helped reestablish Red Sands in the Latin American metal scene, including My Beloved Ghost, The Hunt, and The Coven.
