Solitary pagan black metal band SERPENT LORD has unveiled its haunting new single, “A Pagan’s Spell,” taken from the long-awaited debut full-length, The Once Forgotten Ways of Old, set for release on May 29, 2026 via Eisenwald Records.
Forged by Jake Superchi — known for his work with UADA and Ceremonial Castings — SERPENT LORD first emerged in 2003 as a deeply personal pagan black metal project. Although the project’s debut album was originally recorded in 2005, it was ultimately shelved and left dormant for nearly two decades before being resurrected and fully reimagined during the “Year of the Snake.”
Fans can stream the new single and pre-order the album now:
Pre-Order via Eisenwald (EU/UK)
Pre-Order via Obsidian Spells Shop (North America)
Bandcamp Pre-Orders (Worldwide)
Re-recorded between 2022 and 2025 in the cold heart of the Pacific Northwest, The Once Forgotten Ways of Old preserves the spirit of its original conception while delivering a revitalized sonic assault steeped in ritualistic atmosphere and fierce melodic aggression. The album was engineered and mixed by Jake Superchi and mastered by Arthur Rizk.
The release also features striking artwork and the original logo by renowned fantasy artist Kris Verwimp, alongside photography by Peter Beste.
