Bavarian progressive dark metal band Sun After Dark, led by Benjamin König (ex-Lunar Aurora), has dropped the second single, “Burning Blue,” from their debut album Tatkraft, set for release on June 13, 2025, via Hammerheart Records. The music video premiered yesterday, May 15, 2025, on YouTube, and the track is now streaming on all digital platforms via sunaftedark.lnk.to/burningblue. Album pre-orders are available at sunaftedark.lnk.to/tatkraft, offered in CD, LP, and digital formats, with a limited digipack-CD (1,000 copies) and LP options (150 copies each of two variants).
“Burning Blue,” a 5:22 track, is described by König as “almost catchy and straightforward,” weaving a fairy-tale-like narrative of flying through the night over ruins and dungeons. He notes its roots in an older composition, reworked for Tatkraft, capturing the timeless dream of night flights with an enchanting, nostalgic atmosphere. The album, produced by Victor Bullok (Triptykon) at Woodshed Studios in autumn 2024, features eight tracks blending modern elements, black metal, and dark, powerful moods, with lyrics in English, German, and Bavarian dialect—a nod to König’s Upper Bavarian roots. The first single, “Näbe,” released on March 31, has already brought attention for its atmospheric depth.
