Folk metal band Svartsot, formed in 2005 in Randers, Denmark, premiered their new single Simplicitas on August 1, 2025, from their sixth album Peregrinus, set for release on September 5, 2025, via Mighty Music.

The concept album, recorded at Antfarm Studios by Tue Madsen with artwork by Frederik Jensen and photos by Lars Roed, explores a crusader’s journey. The lineup includes Thor Bager (vocals, mandolin), Hans-Jørgen Martinus Vork Rosenwein (whistles, bagpipes, backing vocals), Rune Frisch (drums, percussion, shouts), Simon Ranjan Buje (bass, shouts), Michael Alm (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), and Cris J.S. Frederiksen (lead guitar). A release show is planned for September 6, 2025, in Copenhagen.
