Florida-based Southern Gothic blackened death metal act The Noctambulant have unveiled their new single Hell Ride – The Second Death, blending black metal ferocity with the spectral atmosphere of Appalachian folklore.
The track follows their 2021 release Hellrazor and a European tour with Hate and Vader, solidifying the band’s unique mix of blues, rockabilly, goth rock, country, and extreme metal. The accompanying video, set in a world of smoke and fire under the guidance of a sinister preacher, features Hammond organ swells, venomous sermons, and relentless guitars.
Watch the Hell Ride – The Second Death video:
Formed in Jacksonville in 2013 by E. Helvete (guitars/vocals) and D. Franseth (drums) after the breakup of their psychobilly band, The Noctambulant fuse blackened death metal aggression with haunting Southern Gothic storytelling. Joined by Lars Goerschafft (bass) and Rev Beaumont (lead guitar), the group channels influences from Venom, Celtic Frost, Bathory, and Dark Funeral into music steeped in spectral Appalachian lore.

A new full-length album is planned for 2026.
