THE OMINOUS CIRCLE Reveal Second Track From Upcoming Album Cloven Tongues of Fire

Portuguese dark death metal conjurers THE OMINOUS CIRCLE have unveiled the second track from their forthcoming album Cloven Tongues of Fire, set for release on November 28 through Osmose Productions. The new single, “Writhing, Upturning, Succumbing”, is now streaming at Osmose’s official YouTube channel.

Listen to “Writhing, Upturning, Succumbing”:

Marking a long-awaited return, Cloven Tongues of Fire finds THE OMINOUS CIRCLE descending deeper into the chasms of their craft. It is the band’s most uncompromising statement to date, a testament to the wickedness of iniquity and a tribute to the enduring spirit of the extreme.

Sophisticated yet raw, the record expands upon the path laid by 2017’s Appalling Ascension, presenting 43 minutes of blackened death metal infused with monolithic doom. From the manic barrage of “Through Tunnels Ablaze” to the towering closer “Utterance of the Formless,” Cloven Tongues of Fire is a defaced monument of low-tuned riffing, dissonant structures, and infernal rhythm.

Crowned with Dan Lowndes’ mastering work, the album’s organic production recalls an ancient filth, merging old and new elements into a labyrinth of sonic blasphemy. Cloven Tongues of Fire is unapologetic, confrontational, and resolute in its mission, a powerful testimony to the awe-inspiring splendor of death.
