Philadelphia-based extreme metal collective THE SILVER, featuring members of Horrendous and Crypt Sermon, have announced their sophomore full-length, Looking Glass Hymnal Blue, due out March 20 via Gilead Media. Alongside the announcement, the band has unveiled the album’s first single, “Two Candles”, offering a sweeping introduction to their most ambitious work to date.
Following 2021’s Ward of Roses, Looking Glass Hymnal Blue expands THE SILVER’s singular fusion of black metal, post-black atmospheres, and baroque heavy metal grandeur. The album unfolds like a decaying opera house brought to life, ornate, romantic, and unsettling, where lush, meticulously arranged riffs collide with raw extremity and emotional vulnerability. Vocalist N. Duchemin’s caustic black metal shrieks slash through the mix, while guitarist/vocalist V provides a haunting, melodic counterbalance that lends the music both elegance and dread.
Recorded by the band with engineer Richie DeVon in Philadelphia and mixed/mastered by Damian Herring, Looking Glass Hymnal Blue pushes THE SILVER to new emotional and compositional extremes. Visually, the album is matched by a fully realized aesthetic crafted by acclaimed artist Paul Romano, whose artwork draws on themes of mirrors, refraction, mythology, and the double to deepen the record’s conceptual core.
With Looking Glass Hymnal Blue, THE SILVER deliver a towering and deeply introspective statement, music that invites the listener inward, daring them to confront what stares back from the glass.

Looking Glass Hymnal Blue is out March 20, 2026 via Gilead Media.
