Swedish symphonic metal band THERION have unveiled a new live video for their iconic classic “To Mega Therion”, taken from the upcoming Con Orquesta live album, arriving January 30, 2026 via Napalm Records.
The track, originally featured on the band’s milestone 1996 album Theli, has been reimagined with full orchestral grandeur in collaboration with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México, presenting one of the most defining songs of THERION’s history in an even more epic light.
Con Orquesta captures THERION’s spectacular 2024 sold-out arena performance in Mexico City, where the band performed to more than 11,000 fans backed by a full orchestra. For the first time since their orchestral ventures in Europe nearly two decades ago, the group returned to the concept on a massive scale, resulting in a monumental symphonic metal experience now available as a limited physical release on 2CD, BluRay and DVD.
Band founder Christofer Johnsson describes the project as a bold new interpretation of THERION’s music:
“This time I wanted to take a different approach… making this a truly authentic Mexican interpretation of THERION live with orchestra.”
Featuring 20 tracks spanning the band’s celebrated catalog, the release includes classics such as “The Blood of Kingu”, “The Rise of Sodom and Gomorrah”, and the new orchestral version of “To Mega Therion”, alongside rare selections and bonus rehearsal material. Limited 3LP Mexican flag edition vinyl will also be available in strictly limited quantities.
With Con Orquesta, THERION once again affirm their position as the undisputed pioneers of symphonic metal, offering fans a truly immersive celebration of their legacy, now elevated to grand orchestral scale.
