Beijing-based progressive power metal project Wheel of Time, led by composer and multi-instrumentalist Jimmie Hong, has released their new single 2063, featuring a guest guitar solo by Tony MacAlpine (Planet X), from their debut full-length album Asymmetry, set for release on November 12, 2025. The track, accompanied by a music video, is available to stream at:
2063 draws inspiration from the Star Trek universe, specifically the year 2063, marking humanity’s first warp flight and alien contact. The song blends cinematic narration simulating astronaut dialogue with progressive melodies and intricate instrumental textures, reflecting the cosmic theme.
Asymmetry, an eight-track album, features collaborations with renowned musicians including Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater), Michele Luppi (Whitesnake), Timo Tolkki (Stratovarius), Tom MacLean (To-Mera), and Alexandre Aposan. The tracklist includes:
