Swedish doom folk band Witchcraft will release a new 5-track EP titled A Sinner’s Child on March 13 via Heavy Psych Sounds Records. They has also shared the EP’s title track, which is streaming now.
Following the critically acclaimed 2025 comeback album IDAG, A Sinner’s Child marks a more intimate and personal chapter for Witchcraft. Founder, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Magnus Pelander strips the sound down to its emotional core, moving fluidly between melodic proto-doom, luminous folk, and sparse acoustic melancholy.
Across the EP, Pelander explores deeply personal themes through songs such as “Drömmen Om Död Och Förruttnelse” and “Själen Reser Sig”, while the title track and its companion piece “Sinner’s Clear Confusion” highlight Witchcraft’s folk-rooted sensibility. Closing track “Even Darker Days” leans into soulful acoustic dirge territory, emphasizing the vulnerability at the heart of the release.
A Sinner’s Child presents Pelander’s songwriting in one of its most direct and stirring forms, serving as a potent epilogue to IDAG while reaffirming the timeless power of melody, voice, and restraint that has defined Witchcraft for over two decades.
