Manchester’s black metal cult WODE have unleashed their new single Under Lanternlight, the latest preview from their highly anticipated fourth album Uncrossing The Keys, set for release on October 3rd via 20 Buck Spin.

Uncrossing The Keys marks a bold expansion of WODE’s already formidable sound. Building on their feral black metal foundation, the album incorporates jagged post-punk shadows, doom-laden pacing, and gothic atmospheres, creating a record steeped in flame, fury, and melancholic grandeur. Tracks like Saturn Shadow and Phantom explore atmospheric terrain, while Transmutation conjures the somber weight of Paradise Lost and Amorphis. With Under Lanternlight, the band delivers a morose anthem, weaving dynamic melodies in a style reminiscent of Sentenced, melancholy and menace entwined.
Recorded and mixed by James Atkinson (Carcass, Angel Witch), mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Tribulation, Wolfbrigade), and completed with artwork by Set33 and design by Envoy Of Death, the album positions WODE alongside the likes of Dissection, Rotting Christ, Samael, and Tribulation in their command of haunted, blackened heavy metal.
