The EP was mixed and mastered by producer Sverker Widgren at Wing Studios in Stockholm, a long-time collaborator known for helping shape the modern Scandinavian extreme metal sound.

A Continued Evolution in Swedish Extreme Metal

Since forming in Stockholm in 2014, Wormwood have carved out a distinct identity within modern metal, blending blackened intensity, Scandinavian melancholy, folk-inspired melodies, and cinematic storytelling.

Their music often shifts between atmospheric, almost cinematic passages and bursts of aggressive, tightly executed extreme metal, creating a contrast that has become central to their sound.

With Å, the band continues that trajectory—refining their approach while expanding their emotional and sonic range. The EP is positioned as another step in their ongoing evolution rather than a departure, reinforcing their reputation for balancing technical precision with emotional depth.

Growing International Recognition

Across four full-length albums, multiple EPs, and a live release, Wormwood have steadily built a global audience. Their work has earned critical recognition in Sweden, including nominations at P3 Guld Awards, chart placements, and inclusion on various “album of the year” lists internationally.

Beyond recordings, the band has toured extensively throughout Europe and built strong followings in Germany, France, the Netherlands, the UK, and the United States, where their cinematic visuals and atmospheric songwriting continue to resonate with a growing audience.

With Å, Wormwood further solidify their position as one of the most forward-thinking forces in contemporary Swedish metal, continuing to expand their sound while staying rooted in the emotional intensity that defines their work.
