Lancaster, England – UK rock visionaries Wytch Hazel have released the official video for The Citadel, out today, July 4, 2025, coinciding with the launch of their fifth album V: Lamentations via Bad Omen Records. Available to order and stream at hypeddit.com/wytchhazel/vlamentations-1, the track blends the downcast profundity of Black Sabbath with yearning mandolin melodies, epic hooks, plaintive harmonies, and a solemn medieval atmosphere, marking it as one of the band’s most affecting songs.
Colin Hendra explains, “This is a song about feeling left out, feeling not good enough… in stark contrast to the words on our other song Woven which say ‘you are enough’… Each song takes on its own character, often guided by the direction of the lyrics. It’s also always fun to have a slower song that still feels heavy and a bit Heaven and Hell!” The album, produced by long-time collaborator Ed Turner, follows their critically acclaimed works like IV: Sacrament, which topped the UK rock charts.
