200 Stab Wounds will return with their new full-length album, Lowest Form, on February 19, 2027 via Metal Blade Records. The Cleveland death metal force has also unleashed the record’s opening track and lead single, “Pangs Of Conscience.”
The eight-track Lowest Form serves as the follow-up to 2024’s Manual Manic Procedures and finds 200 Stab Wounds pushing their old-school death metal foundation through tighter arrangements, greater dynamics and a broader atmospheric palette without sacrificing the brutality at the core of their sound.
The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk, whose credits include Power Trip and Cavalera, with artwork by James Bousema, known for his work with Municipal Waste and Frozen Soul.
“We are very excited to finally release Lowest Form to the world,” the band says. “We’ve worked harder on this record than anything else in our lives. We’re really proud of this one, and we hope you guys enjoy it as much as we do. See you somewhere in the world. Here’s to a new chapter.”
That chapter begins with “Pangs Of Conscience,” a track that combines the band’s trademark aggression with a more introspective lyrical approach.
“This song is about entering a point in your life where you find yourself sometimes making mistakes that go against who you really are as a human, and having to find yourself again,” the band explains. “This song is one of the most dynamic musically and lyrically that we’ve done, and we’re really proud of it.”
Throughout Lowest Form, Steve Buhl, Raymond Macdonald, Todd Thompson and Owen Pooley explore a more dynamic approach to songwriting. The record moves between explosive aggression and slower-building tension, while atmospheric synth interludes add texture around the band’s massive guitar sound.
“Symbolic In Glory” expands the group’s palette further with a spoken-word passage, while the record as a whole remains firmly rooted in the classic death metal sound that has defined 200 Stab Wounds since their emergence.
