Heavy metal legends ACCEPT have unveiled a newly recorded version of “Save Us,” the third single from their upcoming 50th anniversary album, Teutonic Titans 1976-2026, arriving September 4 via Napalm Records.
Originally featured on 1980’s I’m a Rebel, the deep cut has been given new life with an all-star lineup featuring Ghost mastermind Tobias Forge, Anthrax bassist Frank Bello and Korn drummer Ray Luzier. The new rendition was produced, mixed and mastered by Zeuss.
The collaboration with Forge came about after an unexpected conversation with ACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffmann at one of the band’s shows in Stockholm.
“Tobias was not really on my radar. Obviously, I know Ghost, and they’re huge, but last year he turned up at one of our shows when we played in Stockholm,” Hoffmann explains. Forge revealed that “Save Us” was his favorite ACCEPT song and that he had once considered covering it with Ghost.
“‘Save Us?’ I don’t even remember that song. Nobody has even mentioned that song!” Hoffmann recalls. “I had to go back and listen to it. After I saw a Ghost show, it all made sense to me. It really fits his style and I could really imagine him doing that song really well. He’s right, it’s a fun song!”
A static video for the newly recorded “Save Us” is available now.
ACCEPT Celebrate 50 Years With Teutonic Titans 1976-2026
Spanning the band’s formative era from I’m a Rebel through 1989’s Eat the Heat, Teutonic Titans 1976-2026 features 19 ACCEPT classics completely reimagined with 50 guest musicians from across the heavy metal world.
Led by founding guitarist Wolf Hoffmann and featuring the signature vocals of Mark Tornillo, the project gives each song its own lineup of guest vocalists, guitarists, bassists and drummers.
“There is no better way to celebrate this 50-year anniversary than to have our musical peers, friends, and inspirations come together with us to record these classic ACCEPT songs,” Hoffmann says. “I hope everyone enjoys this very special record as much as we all enjoyed making it.”
Among the album’s collaborations, Phil Anselmo, Kirk Hammett and Mikkey Dee join forces on a new version of “Fast as a Shark,” while Billy Corgan and David Ellefson appear on “Love Child.”
The extensive guest roster also includes Sebastian Bach, Todd La Torre, Dino Jelusick, Ola Englund, Alex Skolnick, Rudy Sarzo and Chris Jericho.
“Hellhammer,” originally featured on Eat the Heat, is re-recorded by ACCEPT’s current lineup of Hoffmann, Martin Motnik, Philip Shouse and Christopher Williams, with Jason McMaster handling vocals.
