Aeonian Sorrow Announces From The Shadows EP, Out March 31

Finnish-Greek melodic doom/death metal band Aeonian Sorrow announced their new EP, “From The Shadows”, released today, March 31, 2025. The four-track EP, inspired by cold forest nights, isolation, despair, and haunting memories, offers a journey through darkness with each song—“Harbinger of Ruin,” “Whispers in the Dark,” “Your Blackened Forest,” and “Mist of Oblivion”—delving into unique emotional depths as “the darkness envelopes in our life.”

Formed in 2015 by vocalist/keyboardist Gogo Melone, Aeonian SorrowJoel Notkonen (vocals), Taneli Jämsä (guitars), Jukka Jauhiainen (guitars), Achilleas Papagrigoriou (drums), and session bassist Jani Berney Mikkänen—blends Finnish and Greek influences, drawing from bands like Swallow the Sun and Draconian. Recorded, produced, and mixed by Notkonen, with mastering by Mikkänen, the EP features guest vocals by Niko Kauhanen on “Mist of Oblivion.” All music is a collaborative effort by Melone, Jämsä, Mikkänen, and Notkonen, with lyrics and cover artwork by Melone, creating a cohesive vision of haunting beauty. The EP will be available on Bandcamp and major platforms—check it out today to experience Aeonian Sorrow’s emotive darkness.
