Arizona-based slamming death metal band ATOLL have announced their upcoming full-length album, Death Roll Party 9000, scheduled for release on January 15, 2027, through Unique Leader Records. The band has also unveiled the first single and accompanying music video, “Weed Witch,” featuring guest vocals from Dan Tucker of CROWN MAGNETAR.
Built around slow, crushing grooves, shifting tempos, and heavy breakdowns, “Weed Witch” introduces the musical direction of the upcoming record. The track combines ATOLL‘s established approach to brutal death metal with a satirical concept inspired by modern internet culture.
The band explained the creative process behind the single:
“‘Weed Witch’ is one of those songs where we wanted to write something that was just absolutely disgusting but still fun. The song is built around a really heavy, slow groove with a bunch of tempo changes, nasty riffs, and huge breakdowns.”
Lyrically, the song presents an exaggerated fictional character who uses online platforms and digital payment services to place curses on unsuspecting victims. According to the band, the concept is intended as a humorous commentary on the increasingly strange aspects of contemporary internet culture.
The collaboration with Dan Tucker adds another vocal dimension to the composition. ATOLL revealed that they had been longtime admirers of Tucker’s work with CROWN MAGNETAR and were pleased to have him participate in both the recording and the music video, which was filmed in Denver, Colorado.
The band described “Weed Witch” as one of the slower and heavier compositions on Death Roll Party 9000, highlighting the mixture of aggression, unusual concepts, and humor that characterizes the upcoming release.
Death Roll Party 9000 features multiple guest appearances
The eight-track album includes several collaborations with musicians from the extreme metal scene. In addition to Dan Tucker, Nathan Gearheart of VEHEMENCE appears on “Swamp Terror Alligator,” while Vladislav Martirosov and Arseny Kovalchuk of EXTERMINATION DISMEMBERMENT contribute to “Atomic Sunburn.”
The record also features rhythm and lead guitar performances recorded by former ATOLL member Spencer Ferguson.
Death Roll Party 9000 was produced by ATOLL and recorded by Wade Taylor at Filthy Swine Productions. Mixing and mastering were handled by Miguel Tereso of DemiGod Recordings, while the album artwork was created by Karl Dahmer of Dahmer Art.
The upcoming release follows the band’s 2024 full-length, Inhuman Implants, and continues their combination of brutal death metal, slam, grind, groove metal, and hardcore influences.
From Phoenix to the extreme metal circuit
Formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2014, ATOLL have developed their sound through releases including Prepuce (2022), Human Extract (2023), and Inhuman Implants (2024).
The band has also toured alongside several established extreme metal acts, including PYREXIA, XOTH, CROWN MAGNETAR, and NECROTIC GOREBEAST. Their live appearances include Full Terror Assault Open Air in 2021 and the Guttural Spring Tour in 2026.
With Death Roll Party 9000, ATOLL continue incorporating unconventional lyrical concepts and guest performances into their groove-driven approach to brutal death metal.
