Belgian power metal band IRON MASK have announced their new studio album, Crimson Prophecy, scheduled for release on January 29, 2027, via Frontiers Music Srl. Alongside the announcement, the band has released the album’s first single, “No Greener Lands,” accompanied by an official lyric video.

Led by guitarist and founding member Dushan Petrossi, IRON MASK continue to explore their signature combination of neoclassical influences, melodic power metal, and traditional heavy metal. The upcoming album features eleven tracks built around intricate guitar arrangements, powerful riffs, soaring vocal melodies, and orchestral elements.

Speaking about the new single, Petrossi explained:

“No Greener Lands is a song about something I think we can all relate to: always looking for something better somewhere else, without realizing the value of what we already have. I wanted to capture that feeling through strong and memorable vocal melodies, powerful riffs, and an epic atmosphere. It’s a song with a message, but also all the energy and emotion that define IRON MASK for me.”

The song introduces the musical direction of Crimson Prophecy, which Petrossi describes as one of the band’s most diverse releases to date. While maintaining the neoclassical guitar work that has characterized IRON MASK throughout their career, the album places particular emphasis on memorable songwriting and strong vocal arrangements.

Petrossi elaborated on the creative process behind the record:

“With Crimson Prophecy, I wanted to create an album that feels both powerful and diverse, while staying true to the spirit of IRON MASK. Each song has its own personality, mood, and story, but they all share the same passion for melody, epic arrangements, heavy metal with strong choruses, and the neoclassical guitar work that has always defined my sound. I really pushed myself creatively on this record, and I feel it’s one of the most varied and exciting albums we’ve made so far.”

A significant development for the upcoming release is the return of vocalist Mark Boals, whose career includes collaborations with guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen and several other neoclassical metal projects. His return brings a familiar voice to IRON MASK, complementing Petrossi’s guitar-driven compositions with his extensive vocal range and melodic delivery.

The album’s lineup also features bassist Vassili Moltchanov, keyboardist Franky De Mangelaere, and drummer Kjell De Raes. Petrossi handles electric and acoustic guitars, backing vocals, and additional keyboards.
