Kentucky crossover thrash band BELUSHI SPEED BALL have unleashed another dose of absurdist mayhem with their new single and video, “I’m Not Your Buddy, Guy,” a tribute to South Park ahead of their upcoming album, Toxic Waste Was Everywhere In The ’80s, arriving June 5.
Packed with razor-edged riffs, relentless humor, and deep-cut South Park references, the track continues the band’s tradition of fusing crossover thrash with pure comedic insanity. The accompanying video sees the band transformed into iconic South Park characters while also introducing new guitarist Nathan Rogers, who will make his live debut with the group at Milwaukee Metal Fest on June 6.
Vocalist Vinny Castellano commented on the track:
“We wanted to pay all the respect and admiration to a cartoon that has completely shaped our childhood, South Park… But it was about that time that we noticed our newest single was actually eight stories tall and was a crustacean from the Protozoic era… and you know what that single said? It said, ‘I need about three fifty.’”
The video also showcases the band’s infamous “Butters Snacky Bear” drum kit, proving once again that subtlety has never been part of the plan.

Featuring artwork by Andrei Bouzikov, the album continues the band’s reputation for turning nostalgia, DIY chaos, and pit-starting thrash into a theatrical spectacle. Over the years, the group has become infamous for everything from N64 cartridge releases and Furby editions to Mad Max-style mobile performances and Nerf gun warfare.
Formed in 2013, BELUSHI SPEED BALL have earned praise for their blend of satire and shredding, drawing comparisons to Municipal Waste, Anthrax, GWAR, and Toxic Holocaust.
