Arizona metalcore band blessthefall—Beau Bokan (vocals), Eric Lambert (guitar), Jared Warth (bass), and Elliott Gruenberg (guitar)—have revealed their seventh studio album, Gallows, set for release on September 5, 2025, through Rise Records. Marking their first full-length since 2018’s Hard Feelings, the album is led by the new single mallxcore, released on June 13, 2025, with a visualizer available now. The official music video for mallxcore, directed by Tanner Gordon (Spiritbox, I Prevail), will premiere on June 19, 2025.

mallxcore is a self-aware, high-energy anthem that blends crushing breakdowns, Jared Warth’s guttural screams, and Beau Bokan’s anthemic clean vocals. Bokan describes it as “the most blessthefall song possible,” with its title poking fun at r/Metalcore Reddit critics who dismiss the band’s 2000s “mall scene” roots. He enthuses, “You ever hear a song from a band and go, ‘Holy fucking shit, they nailed it?’ That’s what ‘mallxcore’ will make you feel.” The upcoming music video, per Bokan, features the band in mundane jobs before being recruited by an “over-dramatic party host” for a gig, with easter eggs for longtime fans.

Gallows is a 10-track culmination of blessthefall’s signature sound—visceral screams, heavy riffs, and massive choruses—crafted with creative freedom. Bokan boldly claims, “If you’re a die-hard BTF fan since Day One or a first-time listener, Gallows will end up on your Top 3 metalcore albums for 2025.” The album features guest appearances from Story of the Year (Fell So Hard, Felt So Right), Alpha Wolf’s Lochie Keogh (Drag Me Under), and Caskets (Somebody Else), adding diverse textures. Prior singles Wake the Dead and Drag Me Under (released August 23, 2024) set the stage for its intensity. Recorded with an inspired approach, Gallows balances nostalgia with modern metalcore ferocity, appealing to fans of Killswitch Engage or August Burns Red.

Formed in 2004 in Phoenix, Arizona, blessthefall rose to prominence in the mid-2000s metalcore scene with their debut His Last Walk (2006) featuring Craig Mabbitt (Escape the Fate). Since 2008, Beau Bokan has fronted the band, leading albums like Witness (2009), Awakening (2011), and Hollow Bodies (2013). Known for emotive lyrics, heavy breakdowns, and melodic hooks, they’ve toured with Saosin, Alesana, and Warped Tour. After a hiatus post-Hard Feelings (2018), members Jared Warth and Elliott Gruenberg explored side project High Wind (2022), but Gallows marks a full-fledged return. Their accolades include Best Noise/Screamo Band (2009) and Best Hardcore Band (2009, 2010) at the Arizona Ska Punk Awards.
