Tampa’s own hardcore thrash outfit COLD STEEL are back with their brand new single Smoking Mirrors (ft. Two-Piece), the latest preview of their long-awaited debut album Discipline & Punish, out November 7th via Spinefarm Records.

Produced by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Blood Incantation, Cavalera), Discipline & Punish captures the band’s raw, uncompromising sound, a violent collision of thrash, hardcore, and metalcore the band calls “aggressive metal.”
On the new track, the band comments:
“Our goal with ‘Smoking Mirrors’ was to create an uncompromising track that stood apart from the rest of the album. We incorporated elements of hip-hop and collaborated with our good friend Dusty from Two-Piece. Nothing stands in the way of this track — it’s a calculated, aggressive, unrelenting tale of vengeance and the thousand-yard stare toward retribution.”
Rizk praises the band’s relentless drive, saying:
“Working with COLD STEEL was a lot of fun, mainly because of their attitude towards making the record. They were fully immersed and willing to go down every avenue until something memorable was achieved. Getting to collaborate with Matt Heafy was a killer experience — his insight kept the process powerful.”
