Defenders Of The Faith, the ‘80s heavy metal side project of Swedish symphonic metal band Therion, has released their third single, “The Time Machine,” from their debut album Odes To The Gods, set to drop on June 27, 2025, via Christofer Johnsson’s label Adulruna. Following the release of “Darkside Brigade” in February and “I’m In Love With My Tank” in April, this track continues the band’s homage to classic heavy metal, featuring a lineup with vocalists Thomas Vikström, Chris Davidsson, and Diego Valdez (Dio Disciples), alongside Johnsson and other Therion members. The album, which includes nine tracks like “Heavy Metal Shakedown” and “Northern Stones,” blends the raw energy of Accept and Judas Priest with the melodic finesse of Iron Maiden and Scorpions.
