Within Temptation & Jerry Heil Release “Sing Like A Siren”

Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation has teamed up with Ukrainian artist and 2024 Eurovision contestant Jerry Heil to release their powerful new single, “Sing Like A Siren,” out now as of May 16, 2025, on all major streaming platforms wt.lnk.to/slas. The track, which also has an official visualizer on YouTube, blends Within Temptation’s cinematic sound with Heil’s emotive vocals, incorporating Ukrainian folk elements like a vesnyanka melody—a hypnotic motif symbolizing the ebb and flow of water.

The song, a 6:25 epic, explores themes of struggle, resilience, and unity, with lyrics in both English and Ukrainian. It reflects the feeling of powerlessness amid chaos while urging listeners to stand up and “be the storm,” as Heil puts it: “The devil whispered in my ear: ‘You’re not strong enough to withstand the storm.’ Today I whispered in the devil’s ear: ‘I am the storm.’” The track serves as the soundtrack to Within Temptation’s documentary The Invisible Force, which premiered on May 6, chronicling lead singer Sharon den Adel’s visit to Kyiv and the band’s support for Ukrainian artists, including bringing the band BLIND8 on their Bleed Out 2024 tour.

Heil, a longtime fan of Within Temptation, met the band at Kyiv’s Atlas Weekend festival, sparking this collaboration. She describes the song as “a soundtrack to the film we are living in,” emphasizing its deeper purpose as a voice for Ukraine amid ongoing conflict. The single is available in physical formats, including a limited edition of 750 translucent blue 7” vinyls, a CD single, and a CD single + 7” bundle, exclusively through the Within Temptation Music Store. Fans can stream it now and catch Within Temptation at upcoming festivals like Vestrock (May 31) and Dynamo Metal Fest (August 16)!
