Estonian metalcore band Pridian has released their debut full-length album, Venetian Dark, today, May 16, 2025, via Century Media Records. The album, available now for order at pridian.lnk.to/VenetianDark-Bio in Standard CD Jewelcase and Ltd. Blue-Black Marbled LP formats, marks a milestone for the Tartu-based quartet following their 2023 EP Cybergnosis. Alongside the album drop, Pridian has shared the music video for the focus track “Convoy,” premiered today on YouTube, showcasing their commanding presence and cementing their status as a rising force in Estonia’s metal scene.

Formed in 2018, Pridian—Laur Lindmäe (vocals), Jörg-Erik Hanikat (guitar), Martin Randalu (guitar), and Robert Leht (drums)—crafts a sound blending dark, heavy grooves, cinematic melodies, and electronic elements. Venetian Dark spans 12 tracks, evolving from bouncy, groove-heavy cuts like “Out For Blood” to atmospheric pieces like “Synthetic Salvation,” with influences from Northlane, Spiritbox, and Architects, as noted by Metal Hammer, which praised the band as “one that demands to be heard.” The album, mixed and mastered by Matt Thomas (Kingdom Of Giants, Invent Animate), explores nihilistic themes of mental health struggles, trauma, and personal growth. Lindmäe reflects on the album’s inspiration, stating, “Humanity has lost its connection with nature, the planet, and even itself… We’ll likely figure out how to launch ourselves into space, discover another planet, and start the cycle all over again.”

“Convoy,” a 4:02 track, delves into personal conflict with Lindmäe sharing, “The weight of my choices is catching up to me… The war outside mirrors the war within, and neither offers a way out.” The video, recorded in Tallinn alongside other visuals for the album, complements its intense, textured sound. Pridian’s journey began with their 2021 album The Rotten Unknown (as ÆØNS), which earned a nomination for “Metal Album of the Year” at the Estonian Music Awards, followed by their signing with Century Media in September 2024. Their Euroblast Festival 2024 performance in Cologne marked their German debut, boosting their international fanbase, and they secured a spot at Mystic Festival 2025 in Poland through a jury-led band battle in Estonia.
