Dutch black metal band DOODSWENS have announced their self-titled second full-length album, due out April 17 via Svart Records, alongside the release of a powerful new single and video, “Driven By Death”.
Formed in 2017, DOODSWENS have built a reputation for raw, ceremonial black metal that confronts rather than comforts. Fronted by I. on vocals and drums, with R. on bass and P. on guitar, the trio gained international attention through touring with Marduk and Gorgoroth, delivering ritualistic performances that expose whatever darkness the listener brings with them.
While DOODSWENS translates to Deathwish, the band frame the album’s core concept differently: not surrendering to death, but confronting it — and ultimately finding strength through that confrontation. Lead single “Driven By Death” captures this philosophy in both sound and spirit, channeling bleak intensity into a message of survival, transformation, and renewed resolve.

Band leader I. describes the track as a deeply personal reflection on facing mortality head-on, a realization that fear can dissolve when life has been fully lived, even beneath the weight of persistent darkness.
