Power metal legends DRAGONFORCE have officially entered a bold new chapter, announcing Alissa White-Gluz as the band’s newest member and first-ever frontwoman.
The announcement marks the beginning of a massive new era for the Grammy-nominated band as they simultaneously celebrate the 20th anniversary of their landmark 2006 album Inhuman Rampage, the release that catapulted DRAGONFORCE into global recognition with the now-iconic anthem “Through the Fire and Flames.”
Fans will get their first live taste of the new lineup beginning this weekend at Welcome To Rockville on May 9 and again at Sonic Temple on May 17, where the band will debut performances with White-Gluz. The group also confirmed extensive touring plans throughout 2026 alongside work on their upcoming tenth studio album.
Speaking on the lineup addition, guitarist Herman Li shared:
“Alissa joining the band is an expansion of everything we’ve done up to this point. Together we will honor what made Inhuman Rampage matter, while showing people exactly where we’re going next.”
Known worldwide for her work with Arch Enemy, The Agonist, and collaborations across the metal spectrum, White-Gluz brings a powerful combination of ferocious harsh vocals, soaring melodies, and commanding stage presence to DRAGONFORCE’s already high-octane sound.
On joining the band, White-Gluz stated:
“I am beyond excited to be bringing such iconic music to life with these amazingly skilled musicians in such a fun and inspiring environment. It feels great to showcase all the colors of my voice and utilize all my singing styles in technically challenging, deeply energizing, highly addictive songs.”
Originally formed in 1999, DRAGONFORCE became one of the most recognizable names in modern metal thanks to their technical speed and viral crossover success through Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, where “Through the Fire and Flames” became infamous as the game’s ultimate challenge song.
Over the years, the band’s music has appeared across gaming, film, and pop culture platforms including Fortnite Festival, Brawl Stars, Asphalt Legends, and Despicable Me 4, while sharing stages with legendary acts including Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slipknot, and Ozzy Osbourne.
