Los Angeles–based cinematic hard rock band EDGE OF PARADISE have released a striking new official video for “Martyr (Monster)”, a standout track from their acclaimed 2025 album Prophecy. Expanding the band’s immersive sci-fi narrative universe, the video delivers a visually and musically ambitious experience that pushes the song beyond its original form.
The new clip marks the first on-screen performance of keyboardist Alex Nasla, whose addition further amplifies EDGE OF PARADISE’s cinematic scope. The video’s second act reimagines “Martyr (Monster)” as an instrumental piece, expanding on the album version and opening the composition into a broader, more exploratory soundscape.
This instrumental reinterpretation aligns with the upcoming audiobook release of the band’s graphic novel Hologram and Slaves to Forever, reinforcing the shared themes of identity, control, consciousness, and humanity’s struggle within an increasingly digital and artificial world.
Frontwoman Margarita Monet explains the core message behind the track:
“This song is about realizing you can either surrender to the system that shapes you or reclaim your own identity. Perspective decides whether you’re seen as a martyr or a monster. I believe both live within us—but the power lies in choosing which one defines your reality.”
On welcoming new keyboardist Alex Nasla, Monet adds:
“Alex extends the cinematic sound even more. His keyboard solo marks the beginning of a shift, and in the instrumental version it explodes into something far more expansive—like stepping into a larger reality.”
Fresh off multiple North American tours supporting Delain, Xandria, and Lovebites, EDGE OF PARADISE are bringing their vision to major stages in 2026, including:
- February 7 – Fire It Up Festival (Garden Grove, CA)
- April 17 – Hyperspace Metal Fest (Vancouver, BC, Canada) Additional dates and festival appearances are expected to be announced soon.
Released via Napalm Records, Prophecy is EDGE OF PARADISE’s most intense and technologically ambitious album to date. Co-produced with Mike Plotnikoff (Nita Strauss, Apocalyptica) and mixed/mastered by Jacob Hansen (Arch Enemy, Amaranthe, Katatonia), the record incorporates 8-string guitars, industrial textures, and cinematic electronics while delivering a clear message: resist apathy, embrace emotion, and fight to remain human.
