On March 27, Me Saco Un Ojo Records will release The Dissolution of Consciousness, the debut EP from Canadian doomed death metal entity FUNELORE, on 12” vinyl.
Comprised of two expansive tracks running just under 20 minutes, The Dissolution of Consciousness is a suffocating descent into eldritch death-doom. Crawling guitars and funereal drums collide with monstrous vocals and spectral synths, creating a cinematic atmosphere that is both crushing and hypnotic. The production is raw yet deliberate, allowing every instrument to bear down with immense weight, reinforcing the EP’s oppressive and morbid tone.
Rather than adhering to traditional death-doom conventions, FUNELORE carve out a uniquely immersive sound—one that feels ritualistic, ethereal, and devastating in equal measure. The result is a release that strips the listener bare, drawing them into a slow-moving tide of anguish and collapse.
As described by Jørgen Sven Kirby (Nattskog webzine), this is “a profoundly unusual and unique-sounding record… a destructive and ethereal force of darkness like none you have heard before.”
