Swedish death metal band Entrails are set to release their eighth studio album, Grip of Ancient Evil, on July 18, 2025, via Hammerheart Records. The band dropped the first single, “Wings of Death,” today, May 21, 2025, available to stream on YouTube and all major platforms. Following their 2022 release An Eternal Time of Decay, Entrails delivers their darkest and most savage work yet with this 11-track offering. The album stays true to their old-school Swedish death metal roots, featuring HM-2 buzzsaw guitars, crushing rhythms, and horror-laden lyrics. It also includes surprises like guest vocals from Per “Hellbutcher” Gustavsson (Friends of Hell, Nifelheim) on “Inner Demon” and acoustic passages adding depth to the brutality. Tracks like “Graveyard Rising” and “Consumed by Insects” promise to uphold the band’s legacy of unrelenting ferocity.
Led by Jimmy Lundqvist since their 2008 resurgence, Entrails has solidified their presence in the European death metal scene with performances at festivals like Hellfest and Netherlands’ Deathfest. Formed in the early ‘90s, the band—now with Julian Bellenox (vocals), Lundqvist and Markus Svensson (guitars), Benjamin Andersson (bass), and Arvid Borg (drums)—continues to honor the Stockholm sound pioneered by acts like Dismember and Grave.
