New Album Architects Of A New Weave Out June 5 via Napalm Records
Sweden’s masters of melancholic metal, Evergrey, return with “Leaving The Emptiness,” a powerful new single from their forthcoming fifteenth studio album, Architects Of A New Weave, due out June 5 via Napalm Records.
More than three decades into their career, Evergrey continue to evolve, channeling their signature darkness into something both massive and deeply personal.
“This is a high-energy firecracker that makes you want to jump—we know, because we just played it in Brazil and people were more in the air than on the ground,” says frontman Tom S. Englund. “But underneath that adrenaline is something rawer—a song about the moment you stop running from what hurts and finally face it.”
He continues:
“The tension between the euphoric drive and the weight of the lyrics is intentional. We want you to feel joy and ache at the same time—because that’s what it really feels like to confront your demons and come out the other side.”

A New Era Taking Shape
Architects Of A New Weave arrives just ahead of Evergrey’s appearance as special guest for Iron Maiden on select dates of their Run For Your Lives World Tour, signaling another major chapter in the band’s enduring legacy.
“We’ve literally never had this much trouble picking singles—and that’s the best problem to have,” Englund explains. “Every track is fighting to be heard first. There are no fillers, no compromises—just twelve songs we’re incredibly proud of.”
The album showcases Evergrey at their most expansive and cinematic, balancing riffs with melodies and deeply human lyricism. Standout tracks like “The World Is On Fire,” “Heaven,” and the title track highlight the band’s ability to merge scale with intimacy.
A special moment arrives with “A Burning Flame,” featuring Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect), whose vocals intertwine with Englund’s in a powerful collaboration between Gothenburg metal icons.
Produced by Englund and Vikram Shankar, and mixed by Adam “Nolly” Getgood, the album pushes Evergrey’s sound into new emotional and sonic territory.
