Italian power metal band FROZEN CROWN have unleashed their third single, “Who Wants to Burn in Heaven,” offering another taste of their forthcoming sixth studio album, The Legend of the Six Kings, due October 2 via Napalm Records.
Driven by a martial groove, heavy riffs and choir-backed melodies, “Who Wants to Burn in Heaven” pushes FROZEN CROWN toward the darker atmosphere that defines their upcoming record. The track pairs the powerful vocals of Giada “Jade” Etro and Federico Mondelli while continuing themes first explored on the band’s fan-favorite “I Am The Tyrant.”
“‘Who Wants To Burn In Heaven’ is the natural follow-up to ‘I Am The Tyrant,’ one of our most popular and beloved songs, with its driving martial pace and the singalong emotional chorus,” explains Etro. “The song is a statement of uniqueness and freedom.”
She adds that the song celebrates choosing individuality over conformity, embracing the misunderstood, unconventional and imperfect rather than seeking acceptance from those demanding perfection.
The Legend of the Six Kings
Arriving October 2 through Napalm Records, The Legend of the Six Kings marks a more narrative-driven chapter for FROZEN CROWN. Across ten new tracks, the Italian six-piece expands its trademark heavy power metal sound into darker territory while incorporating elements of speed metal, symphonic metal and melodic death metal.
The album also reconnects with the mythology established on the band’s 2018 debut, The Fallen King, continuing the saga of the Kings and the Tyrant.
“With our sixth album—our second on Napalm Records—we continue our search for the quintessential FROZEN CROWN tune, distilling the key elements of our sound and style into increasingly concise and straightforward songs, stripping away all unnecessary frills,” the band explains.
The record ranges from the speed-driven opener “Lightning in the Sky” and the anthemic “Reborn” to the darker “The One,” which features all three of the band’s guitarists intertwining during its solo. FROZEN CROWN also tackle the Goo Goo Dolls’ 1998 hit “Iris,” transforming the alternative rock staple into a full-fledged power metal track.
Elsewhere, “Winter Hearts,” “River of Time,” “Through the Fire” and “To the Stars” build toward the closing title track, which ventures into melodic death metal territory with growled verses alongside clean vocals from Etro and Mondelli.
