Portuguese masked band GAEREA have announced their highly anticipated new album, Loss, set for release on March 20, 2026 via Century Media Records. The record marks the band’s next evolutionary step, blending their blackened roots with haunting melody, raw emotion, and a newfound vocal depth that pushes them into uncharted territory.
With Loss, GAEREA distill nearly a decade of musical and personal transformation into a single, immersive experience. It is an album that dares to confront grief, heartbreak, and renewal head-on — not through abstraction, but through vulnerability and creative liberation.
The album’s lead single, “Hellbound”, arrives today alongside a visceral new music video directed by Chantik Photography. The track captures GAEREA’s signature tension between aggression and melancholy, exploring guilt, heartbreak, and self-destruction through waves of searing guitar, atmospheric depth, and impassioned vocals.
Visually, “Hellbound” manifests through fire, thorns, and spectral imagery, a cinematic embodiment of pain transmuted into art.

Recorded in early 2025 at Demigod Recordings with long-time collaborator Miguel Teroso, Loss is the band’s first album to feature the same creative lineup as its predecessor, Coma. The result is GAEREA’s most unified and expressive work to date, one that expands their sonic and emotional reach while staying rooted in the ritualistic intensity that has defined them.
“It’s not about the individual or seeing our faces,” says GAEREA’s anonymous frontman. “I want people to connect with the music and the lyrics — to make them their own. Loss is a mirror held to whoever dares to look.”
On stage, GAEREA’s masked, ritualistic presence has become central to their identity, transforming performances into communal exorcisms. The faceless sigil serves not as concealment, but liberation — allowing each member to fully embody the music’s emotional extremes. “We’ve unlocked a freedom where we can do whatever we want,” says the frontman. “Why play it safe when we can dance in the chaos?”
