Portuguese masked collective GAEREA have unveiled their haunting new single and video “Nomad”, alongside the first episode of their documentary series Metamorphosis – Shaping The Unknown – Part I.
“Nomad” explores themes of alienation and self-punishment, portraying a figure in constant motion, fleeing guilt and inner collapse. The video continues the visual narrative of their upcoming album Loss, due March 20 via Century Media Records.
Over the past decade, GAEREA have carved out a genre-defying sound that blends black metal, post-rock, and spiritual intensity, pairing faceless ritualistic visuals with emotionally raw performances. Their audience, known as The Vortex Society, reflects the band’s focus on collective catharsis over individual identity.
Loss — out March 20
The album was recorded in Portugal with longtime collaborator Miguel Teroso and marks GAEREA’s most open and emotionally direct work to date.
GAEREA recently wrapped major North American and European dates and will perform Loss in full at two exclusive release shows, followed by global festival appearances throughout summer.
