Paris-based death metallers GLASSBONE return with their sophomore EP Ruthless Savagery, set for release on February 13 via Iron Fortress Records on digital, CD, and cassette formats.
Built on dense, hostile riffing and volatile rhythmic shifts, Ruthless Savagery sharpens the band’s reputation for cold, uncompromising heaviness while pushing their sound into even more aggressive territory. Drawing from death metal’s most brutal traditions and the immediacy of hardcore, GLASSBONE balance technical precision with a raw, animalistic drive, delivering songs that feel violent, unrestrained, and unpredictable.
The EP’s lead single “Testimony of Death”, featuring FULCI, is now streaming and offers a ferocious introduction to the release. The track erupts with blast beats that snap into gut-level chugs and sudden rhythmic shifts that strike without warning. A chilling guitar solo cuts through the chaos as vocals roar with fureur sauvage, driving the song toward a pit-ready conclusion that fully embodies the EP’s title.
The brutality of the music is mirrored visually through artwork by renowned illustrator Paolo Girardi, depicting a vast, annihilated landscape that reflects the record’s savage and unforgiving nature.
Formed in Paris in 2021, GLASSBONE consists of Hadrien Bresson on vocals, Nicolas Bastien on drums, Jean-Philippe Barcos and Pierre Cantin on guitars, and Alain Poirier on bass. The band has earned a formidable live reputation through extensive touring across Europe, including appearances at Hellfest and Ieper Hardcore Fest, and by sharing stages with acts such as Kruelty, Fulci, The Acacia Strain, Fuming Mouth, and Sunami.
Ruthless Savagery was recorded by Jean-Philippe Barcos and Thomas Crémier, performed by GLASSBONE, and mixed and mastered by Thomas Crémier at Soundblast Studio. The band’s logo was designed by Benoit Galeron, with additional designs by Muhamad Furqon and Catur Ferdi, layout by Pierre Cantin and Benoit Galeron, and photography by David Fitt.
