London occult rockers GREEN LUNG have released their new single “Black Magick Radio,” the latest preview of their forthcoming album Necropolitan, arriving September 11, 2026.
Inspired by the outlaw spirit of 1960s pirate radio, “Black Magick Radio” serves as GREEN LUNG’s love letter to the history of occult rock. The track draws from vintage influences including Lucifer’s Friend and Black Widow while referencing landmarks from London’s proto-goth and occult history, including Soho’s Le Macabre and The Process Church of the Final Judgement.
GREEN LUNG comment:
“‘Black Magick Radio’ is our love letter to occult rock itself, and a promise to spread its gospel as widely as we possibly can. All together now… Eko Eko Azarak, Eko Eko Zomelak…”
The single arrives alongside a video directed by Billy Howard Price, depicting a seemingly ordinary suburban family falling helplessly under the song’s supernatural influence.
“Black Magick Radio” is the third track on Necropolitan, a nine-song album celebrating both the occult history and heavy music heritage of GREEN LUNG’s native London. The record explores the power of nature over humanity’s ambitions while pushing the band’s combination of traditional heavy metal, doom, progressive rock and psychedelic influences into darker territory.
For Necropolitan, GREEN LUNG reunited with producer Tom Dalgety (Opeth, Ghost), who handled recording and mixing. The band entered the legendary Rockfield Studios in January 2026, following in the footsteps of artists including Black Sabbath, Queen and Judas Priest.
Rather than relying on densely layered arrangements, GREEN LUNG sought to capture the massive character of their live performances. Much of the record was tracked live, emphasizing heavy riffs, Hammond organ and Mellotron while giving the songs a rawer and leaner foundation.
The resulting album follows 2023’s This Heathen Land, which reached No. 1 on the UK Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart. Since emerging from London’s heavy rock underground with the Free the Witch EP in 2018, GREEN LUNG have released three acclaimed full-length albums — Woodland Rites (2019), Black Harvest (2021) and This Heathen Land (2023) — while touring internationally with Clutch, Opeth and Unto Others.
Following the release of Necropolitan, GREEN LUNG will embark on the Dance to the Grave Tour MMXXVI in December with special guests HIGH ON FIRE and support from GNOME. The European and UK run begins December 3 in Antwerp and concludes December 20 in Glasgow.
Necropolitan arrives September 11, 2026.
