Green Lung Return With New Album Necropolitan + Release New Single “Evil in this House”

UK heavy metal band Green Lung have announced their fourth studio album, Necropolitan, due out September 11, 2026 via Nuclear Blast.

Produced, recorded, and mixed by Tom Dalgety — known for his work with Opeth and Ghost — the album was tracked at Rockfield Studios in January 2026. The band aimed to capture a rawer and heavier version of their live sound by stripping back layered arrangements and recording much of the material live in the studio.

Thematically, Necropolitan serves as both a celebration of London’s occult history and a meditation on nature reclaiming human ambition and empire. Drawing inspiration from classic British heavy metal, doom, and progressive rock traditions, the record channels influences ranging from Black Sabbath to Queen and Judas Priest.

The lead single, Evil in this House, is described by the band as “what would it sound like if a stoner metal band carried out a paranormal investigation?” Built around a crushing Sabbath-inspired riff and ghostly synth textures, the song arrives alongside a music video inspired by 1970s haunted house cinema.
