Legendary shock rock band GWAR has announced The Return of Gor Gor Tour, a North American headline campaign starting October 18, 2025, in Salt Lake City, featuring support from Helmet, The Dwarves, and Blood Vulture. The tour celebrates the band’s 40th anniversary and the return of their long-lost, crack-addicted dinosaur, Gor Gor, while supporting their forthcoming multimedia release, The Return of Gor Gor, out July 25, 2025, via Pit Records and Z2 Comics. Blöthar comments on the tour: “Gor Gor demands sacrifice! The Tyrant Teen is all grown up and he wants love! Don’t look him in the eye!! The beast demands a bride! Come in your bridal finery. The Return of Gor Gor features three new songs mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, GodCity Studios) and four live tracks from their 2024 Atlanta tour, mixed by Chris Ronan Murphy, all produced by GWAR and mastered by Alan Douches. The release includes a 32-page comic by Dan Mumford detailing Gor Gor’s return, available with all formats: CD with comic booklet, LP with etched vinyl and comic booklet, Deluxe LP with hardcover comic (D2C exclusive), and a standalone comic. Vinyl editions offer a Semi-Translucent Etched Deep Purple Vinyl (exclusive at GWAR.net) and Semi-Translucent Etched Green vinyl (at Z2Comics.com), plus a Deluxe Hardback edition.
Blöthar adds about the release: “The last time I saw Gor Gor he was just a wee fart dragon… Next thing I know, he’s a 20-foot tall trans-species prostitute working a pickle park. Formed in Richmond, Virginia in 1985, GWAR has spent 40 years defying conventions with their theatrical live shows, bodily fluid antics, and albums like Scumdogs of the Universe and America Must Be Destroyed. The Return of Gor Gor marks a new chapter in their chaotic legacy.
