Halsey and Amy Lee Release “Hand That Feeds” for Ballerina Movie Soundtrack

Halsey and Evanescence’s Amy Lee have officially released their collaborative single “Hand That Feeds” today, May 9, 2025, as part of the soundtrack for the upcoming John Wick spin-off movie From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. The track, which dropped with an official audio video on YouTube, is available for streaming on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and more via halsey.lnk.to/HandThatFeeds.

The haunting, cinematic 3:07 song features Halsey and Lee harmonizing over eerie piano chords and siren-like drones, with lyrics like “Too late ’cause you know you can’t turn around and bite the hand that feeds,” reflecting themes of betrayal and defiance that align with the film’s intense narrative. Set during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Ballerina—starring Ana de Armas as assassin Eve Macarro, alongside Keanu Reeves and the late Lance Reddick—hits theaters June 6. The collaboration, sparked by Lionsgate, follows Halsey’s longtime admiration for Lee, evident in her 2024 recreation of Evanescence’s Fallen album cover while promoting The Great Impersonator.

While the song’s moody atmosphere suits the film, its broad appeal might be limited by its niche, gothic tone, potentially resonating more with Evanescence fans than Halsey’s pop-leaning audience. Still, for fans of dark rock and cinematic soundtracks, it’s a powerful blend of two iconic voices. Evanescence joins Halsey on her For My Last Trick tour, performing at the Hollywood Bowl on May 14.
