New Orleans-based death thrash upstarts HERAKLEION will release their live album Live Through Eternity independently on October 16th.
The nine-track offering was captured on April 17th, 2025, at Chelsea’s Live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, during a support slot for Obituary. Engineered, mixed, and mastered by Paul Emden, the record presents the entire uncut performance exactly as it happened, no overdubs, no edits, no studio trickery. This is HERAKLEION live, raw, and ferocious, pulled straight from the soundboard.
The band comments:
“Live Through Eternity captures everything about our live show that we felt the studio albums lack. Every song is faster, angrier, and tighter when we’re onstage. The recording took place at one show and was one continuous take. It wasn’t staged, overdubbed, or compiled over the course of an entire tour, and it wasn’t aligned to a grid. No dead air was cut. No extra crowd noise was added. Nothing was altered. What is on tape is what went on at the show. We’d just come off a tour with Exhorder and were supporting Obituary on this night. We were primed and ready for anything and anyone.”

To coincide with the release, HERAKLEION will join Cavalera for a run of Texas dates in mid-October, before reuniting with Obituary in December and playing a SOLD OUT show with Acid Bath in March 2026.

HERAKLEION’s previous EPs, Curse of Eternity (2022) and Necroverse (2024) — established them as a rising force in the underground, blending the technical ferocity of Morbid Angel and Pestilence with the cosmic oddities of Voïvod. The band’s name itself references the fabled Egyptian city, long thought a myth until its rediscovery underwater in 2000, an apt symbol for a group dredging up buried extremity for a new era.
