Philadelphia progressive extreme metal band IATT have unveiled “Drift Away”, the first single from their forthcoming full-length album Etheric Realms of the Night, due out May 8, 2026 via Black Lion Records.
Accompanied by a cinematic music video, “Drift Away” serves as the opening chapter of both the album’s narrative arc and its companion film, guiding listeners into the liminal space between waking consciousness and dreams.
Featuring guest appearances from Didier Malherbe (Gong) on flute and Ben Karas (Thank You Scientist / Slaughtersun) on violin, the song introduces the core themes behind Etheric Realms of the Night: surrender, altered awareness, and the unstable boundary between inner and outer worlds.
Known for blending blackened aggression, technical precision, and cinematic atmosphere, IATT reveal a more emotional and atmospheric side of their sound on “Drift Away”, while maintaining the ambition and depth that have defined their work since forming in 2008. The single offers an early glimpse into a seven-movement album experience built on immersion, symbolism, and evolving sonic landscapes.
